Notice for SASEE BGM 2023, 12 July 2023 with Request for Nominations to the 2023-25 Board
| Dear SASEE member,
The upcoming Biennial General Meeting (BGM) of the South African Society for Engineering Education (SASEE) will take place on Wednesday, 12th July 2023, 08h40 during the SASEE 2023 conference in Gauteng. This, our 6th biennial SASEE conference, will be held at the Glenburn Lodge, Gauteng. All current members are invited to attend. As in previous years, conference attendance will include SASEE membership for the two-year period 2023-2025. SASEE members who do not plan to attend the conference are still invited to attend the BGM on Wednesday as voting members, but will need to renew their SASEE membership if they wish to remain members. The minutes of the previous BGM can be found with the documents below. The following current board members have indicated their willingness to renew their term, and have been nominated and supported by the current board: Nominated incoming president for 2023-2025 We further invite you to nominate fellow members for positions to the board of SASEE for the upcoming term 2023-2025. Only a member in good standing can be nominated to the board and they must be nominated by two members in good standing. Form and instructions can be downloaded here: SASEE BGM 2023 Nomination Form Voting will take place by secret ballot at the BGM. Please note that the deadline for submission of nominations is Friday, 7 July 2023 – all nominations must be received by SASEE via email (info@sasee.org.za). Please note: our constitution states that the only elected board position is President. Other board members are elected as general members, and the board allocates specific portfolios for each board member once they have been voted in. The board has the power to co-opt members to vacant portfolios. We look forward to seeing you in Gauteng!
