2022 GEDC Diversity Award Winner

The Global Engineering Deans Council in partnership with Siemens and George Mason University, is proud to announce the winner for the 2022 GEDC Diversity Award, a global award for innovative projects that inspire students of all profiles and backgrounds to study and succeed in engineering.

LARGE-SCALE EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Lead by Dr. Lelanie Smith and the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT (EBIT) at the University of Pretoria developed this experiential learning module that intends for the students to develop, through reflection, understanding of their own experience in a team-based works space as well as a broader understanding of the application of their discipline knowledge and its potential impact in their communities in this way also enhancing their sense of civic responsibility.
